"Wreck of the Prins Willem V"

The Prins Willem V was a steel hulled Dutch freighter on it's way back home from the Port of Milwaukee on the night of October 14th, 1954 when it collided with an oil barge less than 2 miles out of the harbor. An hour and half later it became what would be the most dived shipwreck on Lake Michigan.

Artist Cal Kothrade has captured the 258 foot ship as it looked in 2010 with all of it's damage, missing components, dislodged parts and debris field as it continues to dig it's way deeper into Lake Michigan's clay bottom. There are divers, and a surface boat to help show size and distance relationships, as well as a compass rose to show her orientation. The front of the shirt has a line drawing showing Willie on the surface. The Milwaukee Dive Apparel logo is on the left sleeve.
