Wreck of the Westmoreland Photographic Print

This rendering depicts the wreck of the "Westmoreland" as it lies on the bottom of Lake Michigan in 2012. Painstakingly created from hours of video, this depiction is the only version of the wreck's current condition ever compiled, as the man who found it, Ross Richardson commissioned the work prior to the location of the vessel becoming public knowledge. The Westmoreland is a 200 foot long wooden packet steamer that sank in 1854, before the civil war began, and a full 10 years prior to the assasination of President Lincoln. Seventeen souls died during the sinking due to a lifeboat mishap. More about the story can be learned by reading Ross' book, "The Search For The Westmoreland", available at www.michiganmysteries.com

Created using Adobe Photoshop. Time to complete about 70 hours. Rendering available as a print, contact Cal for details on price and shipping.
