Cal's Favorite Wreck Shots

"Emperor Stern" - The 525' bulk freighter ran aground on Canoe Rocks in 1947 due to a lack of navigational awareness. Twelve men lost their lives in the incident, including the captain. Today it is a favorite technical dive on the stern, and a loved recreational dive on the bow. The vessel sits on an inclined reef, with the stern in 170' of water, and the bow approximately 50' This view is near the very stern, looking slightly up, towards the bow. The large hole in the deck is the engine room opening. Perfect for 4x6's, 6x9's, 8x12's, 12x18's, 20x30's, 24x36's. Titled and signed by Cal

"
Emperor Stern Anchor" - This is the stern anchor, at the very back of the boat. A crewman's shoe can be seen sitting next to the anchor. Perfect for 4x6's, 6x9's, 8x12's, 12x18's, 20x30's, 24x36's. Titled and signed by Cal

"
Emperor Spare Prop Blade" - Next to the aft cabin structure, along the starboard rail near the very back of the vessel, is a spare prop blade. A common practice is to have divers count how many they see when diving the stern on air. There is more than one, and more often than not, everyone comes to the surface with different answers due to nitrogen narcosis. Perfect for 4x6's, 6x9's, 8x12's, 12x18's, 20x30's, 24x36's.
